In its report on Serious Youth Violence the Home Affairs Committee says the rise in serious youth violence is a social emergency, and that young people have been failed in the most devastating way, losing their lives as a result.
It says a ‘Youth Service Guarantee’ is needed to protect young people from serious violence, recommending ‘a fully-funded, statutory minimum of provision for youth outreach workers and community youth projects in all areas, co-designed with local young people.’
